STEP 1 - Design and Plan

Before the gunite is applied, the plumbing and electrical systems are installed. This includes the placement of skimmers, drains, and return lines, as well as the installation of electrical lines for lighting, pumps, and heaters.

STEP 5 - Gunite Application

Once the steel reinforcement and plumbing/electrical systems are in place, the gunite is applied. Gunite is a mixture of sand, cement, and water that is sprayed onto the steel reinforcement to create the pool shell. The gunite is troweled to a smooth finish, and the thickness of the shell is typically around 6-8 inches.

STEP 6 - Tile and Coping

After the gunite has cured for several days, the tile and coping are installed. This involves the placement of tiles along the waterline of the pool and coping stones around the perimeter of the pool.

STEP 7 - Decking and Coping

Once the tile and coping are installed, the decking and landscaping are completed. This includes the placement of any walkways, patios, or other hardscape elements, as well as the installation of plants, trees, and other landscaping features.

STEP 8 - Fill and start-up

Finally, the pool is filled with water and the equipment is started up. This includes the installation of the pump, filter, heater, and any other equipment needed to operate the pool. The water is chemically balanced and the pool is ready for use.
